Churchill – Day 1
1February 21, 2015 by vickimrichardson
The next morning we flew to Churchill. We had to wear all the gear because it was too puffy and cumbersome to pack. On the plane I was hot as hell and felt like a baked funky salami so I started disrobing. First I took off the coat, hat, and scarf; then I shed the fleece jacket; and finally I had to pull the ski pants down. I was wearing a pair of yoga pants underneath so it’s not as if I was sitting in my big panties on the plane.
When the plane landed we had to walk to the terminal. The temperature was 30 below on the tarmac and the wind was blowing. Now I know why we are wearing so many layers.
Every day we were slated to eat all meals at the local restaurant called The Seaport. The food was pretty good, but all heart attack style cooking. Everything was fried, fatty, cheesy, and meaty. Gotta pack on the blubber to keep warm. After eating we went to take photos of the sunset to get ready for the main event…the Lights. We were given suggestions for how to take a better photo of the sunset. My masterpieces are included above.
The first night was too cloudy to see the Lights. Booohooo!!!!

Those are beautiful photos. I’m glad to see you’re having so much fun traveling the world!
