Veta arrived at 4:30 AM this morning. She was supposed to arrive at 7PM Sunday night. She will also have a welcome to Romania story to tell when she returns. The landing strip was icy and the plane was too big to land. That bad combo caused a rerouting of the flight to Cluj. She then had to take a 4 hr bus to Sibiu, and a nice man gave her a ride to my home. Also, I nominated the ASTRA Film Fest for a civil society award. It’s sort of the Oscar for non-governmental organizations working for change. We won in the Art and Culture section. We will receive our statue shortly and I plan to take a picture of myself holding the award and smiling like a fool with my new digital camera (thanks to my mom and Veta)and send it to you all to cherish.
